Sayre

Today I went to Sayre, on I35 it is the furthest town west worth any mention before going into the Texas panhandle.

The Yukon water tower - Home of Garth Brooks.

I decided this time I would go and do a drive by of Clinton on the way back. Here is a sign advertising the Route 66 Museum.

On my way out to Sayre I stopped off at Weatherford to deliver 82 3 gallon junipers to the new Walmart. Here's a highway ad.

Ah, the Blue Cherokee Trading Post.

The highway side windmills of Weatherford...

...and the combines skirting them.

Blue Cherokee

Bar S of Clinton (I think - oh brother, forgot already). Probably smells better than dogfood!

Sayre sign

Sayre Methodist Church.

Sayre Baptist Church.

Sayre's County Courthouse. (read the building for the county name)

U.S. Calvary bison in front of courthouse.

Part of the four blocks of downtown Sayre.

Martin nests and a couple of martins.

On the way back to Clinton.

Big church outside of Elk City.

I think the Clinton signs are kind of funny.

Hills on the West side of Oklahoma.

Clinton Watertower.

Official Highway sign.

Keep our land Grand and a scissor tailed flycather.

The sign says it all but obviously I almost missed it.

Route 66 Restaurant

And across the street.

HEY LOOK LOVE DAIRY QUEEN! AND I WAS RIGHT IT WAS IN CLINTON!

Presbyterian church in Clinton. Check out the windows if you can.

The Fire Station - sweet huh?

The flag was the focus but obviously the camera didn't think so.

A weird looking grain building I wager and a train.

Wheat fields in Clinton.

VFW - because there's a tank.

Isaiah 40:12 I think. Because I couldn't find a pen.

The front of the Blue Cherokee. I had to stop for fuel at the Loves across the way.

I like these signs the point out some of the reasons to stop, well, besides DQ.

Yes, very worth the detour.

Look close the bumps up top are workers.

Maybe we need to visit the Route 66 Museum as an excuse to go to DQ!
